Japan science support

"Research facilities have been destroyed by the recent earthquakes and tsunami in Japan, and fear over radiation has brought work to halt at a far greater number of laboratories throughout the Tokyo area. The setback for science will be great, and many in Japan are wondering whether they will ever get their careers back on track. For scientists who are forced to close their labs or who chose to evacuate, there might be hope. Researchers living outside of Japan are trying to think of ways to help scientist-refugees." This website is trying to help by collecting offers of support and by raising awareness of this issue. If your lab or institution has room to host scientist-refugees, or you know of funding resources, exchange schemes, lab space, server space or open positions, please help out. The "Yes! I can help out" button takes you to a form where we collect offers and ideas for our Japanese colleagues. The "Yes! I can send a letter" button takes you to a template letter (but please modify this as appropriate) to notify your institution of this issue.
